All our tours are based on a minimum of 2 people. If you are traveling alone please contact us to provide a quote according to the tour you want.

We can make more flexible tours, also to couples on their honeymoon, marriage anniversaries, groups or large families, trips for student promotions and organizations or companies.

We adapt ourselves to those people who have a vegetarian or vegan diet. If you have any food allergies, please specify when you make your reservation to provide a menu according to your needs. For those who do not opt for vegetarian or vegan food our meals include fish, chicken, pork or local beef.

We strive to maintain a low use of plastic so we would appreciate if you bring your own bottle or container to be refilled with purified water during the tour and its activities.

Departure in the morning from your accommodation or the airport in a private vehicle heading south of Iquitos for 1 hour 45 minutes until we reach the town of Nauta. During the trip, our guide will make a brief description and historical review of the city of Iquitos and its main attractions.

We will set sail in a private boat from the port of Nauta sailing along the Marañón River for 3 hours upstream. During the trip you will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscape and you will have the possibility to see the gray (Sotalia fluviatilis) and pink river dolphins (Inia geoffrensis), diversity of birds such as the yellow billed tern (Sternula superciliaris), olivaceous cormorant (Phalacrocorax olivaceus), great egret (Ardea alba), snowy egret (Egretta thula), ring kingfisher (Megaceryle torquata), among many others.

A delicious lunch, typical of the Amazon jungle, will be waiting for us on board the boat, accompanied by fruits and natural juices.

When we arrive to the community of Santo Domingo, this will be our entry point to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, we will obtain the entry permit for our adventure.

Inside the reserve, we will continue navigating for 30 minutes until we reach the community of 20 de Enero.

Next, comes our excursion in search of the river dolphins and we will explore the area in search of primates. If you like, you can swim in the Yanayacu River, and then watch the sunset over the amazon.

Next, we will enjoy a typical dinner of the Amazon rainforest prepared with fresh products from the region.

After dinner, we will make a nocturnal hike in search of reptiles, amphibians, rodents and arachnids while we enjoy the beautiful symphony of the Amazon rainforest, which the nocturnal animals that live here create for us.

Accommodation will be provided in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

Our day will begin with an early start with an expedition aboard our boat sailing along the Yanayacu River in search of the sloths (Bradypus tridactylus), black capped squirrel monkey (Saimiri boliviensis) and saddle back tamarin (Saguinus fuscicollis). We will take advantage of high bird activity during sunrise to go birdwatching, where we will also take time to listen and enjoy their beautiful songs.

We will then return to enjoy our delicious and energizing tropical breakfast accompanied by fruits.

Next, we will sail several hours deeper and deeper into the virgin forest, until we find our ideal place where we will set up our camp and it will be our center of operations during the day.

We will then enjoy a rich typical lunch of the jungle prepared by our cook with local products.

The following activity in our agenda is a boat trip where we will test our skills with the artisanal fishing of piranhas. The guide will give you the instructions and all the necessary equipment for fishing. If you like you can keep and cook your best catch for dinner. We will also take the opportunity to observe and identify the pink and gray dolphins of the Amazon.

We will then eat a delicious Amazon dinner.

After dinner we will do a night canoeing expedition. In complete silence, we will search for alligators, nocturnal birds, rodents and mammals that we can see during the silence of the night aboard our canoe.

For the night we will return to our base camp for a night of camping in the jungle.

Our day will begin with an early start with an expedition aboard our canoe to observe different species of monkeys on the banks of the river like the black capped squirrel monkey (Saimiri boliviensis), the saddle back tamarin (Saguinus fuscicollis), the red howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus), the black-capped capuchin (Cebus apella), among others. We will enjoy the beautiful sunrise in the jungle of the mirrors.

We will then eat a delicious Amazonian breakfast.

After breakfast we will take our stuff and sail several hours further into the virgin forest, moving to the heart of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, where we will set up our new base camp.

Next, we will take a walk through the virgin forest. Remember to be very attentive and pay close attention during the walk because we will see monkeys, amphibians, reptiles, birds, arachnids and diversity of insects in their natural habitat.

We will then eat a delicious Amazonian lunch.

After lunch, follow an excursion to go in search of the giant otter (Pteronura brasiliensis) and the neotropical otter (Lontra longicaudis), where you can also see varieties of birds and reptiles.

Then we will eat a delicious tropical dinner.

Later, we will make a nocturnal expedition where you can see (and hear) the animals that hide during the day and perform most of their activities during the night. You will witness that the nights in Pacaya Samiria are full of life.

For the night we will return to our base camp for a night of camping in the jungle.

The day will begin with a delicious tropical breakfast. Then, we will take a walk in virgin forest, to submerge ourselves in the "kingdom of the giant trees" and to take an ethnobotanical walk. We will have the pleasure of seeing and appreciating the Ceiba (Ceiba pentandra), the largest tree in the Amazon rainforest that can exceed 50 meters in height. We will also learn how to cut and drink from the "water liana", a vine that can be used as a survival technique.

Continuing our walk we will pay close attention to our surroundings, especially to the canopy of the forest, trying to identify sloths and species of monkeys that will find feeding and carrying out their daily activities in their natural habitat. You can also see varieties of birds, insects, arachnids, reptiles and amphibians. If we are lucky we can see different species of boas, including the anaconda or the Amazonian jaguar when it comes to drink water on the shores of the lagoons. We will continue with our walk until we reach a cocha (it is locally called the lagoons), where there is a great diversity of fish and aquatic species. We will enjoy the beautiful landscape and then return to our camp for lunch.

We will then eat a delicious Amazonian lunch

After enjoying our lunch, we will take our things and continue sailing to the heart of Pacaya Samiria, going deeper and deeper into the virgin forest, until we reach the new point where we will set up our camp.

We will then eat a delicious Amazon dinner.

After dinner we will take a night walk through the Amazon jungle.

For the night we will return to our base camp for a night of camping in the jungle.

We will start our day with a delicious tropical breakfast.

After breakfast we will do a canoe expedition to the heart of the virgin forest to perform the search for birds such as the blue-and-yellow macaw (Ara ararauna), and the scarlet macaw (Ara macao). This will be our opportunity to find the largest freshwater fish in the world: the Giant Arapaima (Arapaima gigas).

Next we will return to our camp to enjoy our Amazonian lunch.

After our lunch, we will walk into the virgin jungle in search of mammals such as the tapir (Tapirus terrestris), giant armadillo (Priodontes maximus), capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) and the giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla), among others.

It is time to return to our campsite to enjoy the sunset in the virgin forest, then rest from our walk and enjoy dinner.

Then we will eat our delicious Amazon dinner.

For the night we will return to our base camp for a night of camping in the jungle.

We will wake up at dawn for a night walk and wait for the sunrise in the virgin forest. You will notice how the sounds that give life to the jungle during the night begin to fade little by little as the sunlight begins to fade the darkness that hides predators and prey during the night.

After living this incredible experience, we will head towards our camp to enjoy breakfast.

Amazonian Breakfast.

It’s time to do a canoe expedition a canoe expedition to the heart of the virgin forest. Taking advantage of the silence of the canoe, this will be the perfect time to watch birds difficult to see such as the Couvier’s toucan (Ramphastos cuvieri), king vulture (Sarcoramphus papa) and Jabiru (Jabiru mycteria). Remember to keep your eyes wide open, as we can also see Iguanas (Dracaena guianensis, Iguana iguana), monkeys, and snakes.

We will return to our camp to enjoy lunch.

Next, we will put into practice all the knowledge acquired about piranha fishing. The piranhas do not attack and it is possible to swim among them without suffering any damage, you can see for yourself, jumping into the water and swimming with our guide on the river with the piranhas.

After living this adrenaline and great experience, we will return to our camp to rest and enjoy dinner.

Later, our guides will be protagonists again of an informative talk about the methods of night fishing carried out for a long time by the local people. After the talk we will take our lanterns and fishing gear, to go to the sectors that our guides know where you can see and of course put into practice all the knowledge acquired during the talk.

We will return to our camp to rest.

Camping in the jungle.

We will wake up early to start the day with our well-known Amazonian breakfast to then take our belongings and move our base camp to another part of the jungle, which will expand the opportunity to spot wild animals.

We will make a reconnaissance walk through the new area where our base camp will be set up and then return to enjoy lunch.

Next, we will put into practice all the knowledge acquired about piranha fishing. The piranhas do not attack and it is possible to swim among them without suffering any damage, you can see for yourself, jumping into the water and swimming with our guide on the river with the piranhas.

We will begin our day with an energizing Amazonian breakfast. Then, we will pack all our belongings to return to the community of 20 de Enero. Make yourself comfortable and enjoy the return trip where you can see birds, reptiles and mammals on the riverbank, as well as the dolphins that will accompany us during our return trip.

Lunch on board the boat.

Once in the community, you will have the opportunity to buy beautiful handicrafts that the inhabitants make with their own hands and at the same time your purchase will be contributing to local development.

Return by boat to the port of Nauta.

Followed by transportation by private vehicle from Nauta to Iquitos.

The arrival will be at our office or if you prefer, your accommodation in Iquitos or the airport.
