All our tours are based on a minimum of 2 people. If you are traveling alone please contact us to provide a quote according to the tour you want.

We can make more flexible tours, also to couples on their honeymoon, marriage anniversaries, groups or large families, trips for student promotions and organizations or companies.

We adapt ourselves to those people who have a vegetarian or vegan diet. If you have any food allergies, please specify when you make your reservation to provide a menu according to your needs. For those who do not opt for vegetarian or vegan food our meals include fish, chicken, pork or local beef.

We strive to maintain a low use of plastic so we would appreciate if you bring your own bottle or container to be refilled with purified water during the tour and its activities.

Departure in the morning from your accommodation or the airport in a private vehicle heading south of Iquitos for 1 hour 45 minutes until we reach the town of Nauta. During the trip, our guide will make a brief description and historical review of the city of Iquitos and its main attractions.

We will set sail in a private boat from the port of Nauta sailing along the Marañón River for 3 hours upstream. During the trip you will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscape and you will have the possibility to see the gray (Sotalia fluviatilis) and pink river dolphins (Inia geoffrensis), diversity of birds such as the yellow billed tern (Sternula superciliaris), olivaceous cormorant (Phalacrocorax olivaceus), great egret (Ardea alba), snowy egret (Egretta thula), ring kingfisher (Megaceryle torquata), among many others.

A delicious lunch, typical of the Amazon jungle, will be waiting for us on board the boat, accompanied by fruits and natural juices.

When we arrive to the community of Santo Domingo, this will be our entry point to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, we will obtain the entry permit for our adventure.

Inside the reserve, we will continue navigating for 30 minutes until we reach the community of 20 de Enero.

Next, comes our excursion in search of the river dolphins and we will explore the area in search of primates. If you like, you can swim in the Yanayacu River, and then watch the sunset over the amazon.

Next, we will enjoy a typical dinner of the Amazon rainforest prepared with fresh products from the region.

After dinner, we will make a nocturnal hike in search of reptiles, amphibians, rodents and arachnids while we enjoy the beautiful symphony of the Amazon rainforest, which the nocturnal animals that live here create for us.

Accommodation will be provided in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

We will start the day very early with a rich tropical breakfast, then take our belongings and sail for several hours deeper and deeper into the virgin forest towards Cocha El Dorado. During the trip we will make the search for animals such as the sloth (Bradypus tridactylus) and also observe diversity of monkeys such as the squirrel monkey (Saimiri boliviensis), saddle back tamarin (Saguinus fuscicollis), red howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus) and brown capuchin monkey (Cebus apella), among others. We will take advantage of the morning to do the bird watching that is when they are more active, taking the time to listen and enjoy their beautiful songs.

After several hours of navigation, we will begin the search until we find our ideal place where we will set up our camp and it will be our operations center during the day.

It’s time to enjoy the rich typical lunch of the jungle prepared by our cook with local products.

We will make an excursion to test our skills with the artisanal fishing of piranhas, in the way that local people do it. The guide will give you the instructions and all the necessary equipment. If you like you can taste your best catch during dinner. We will take the opportunity to observe and identify the pink dolphins and gray dolphins of the Amazon.

Later, we will make a nocturnal expedition where you can see (and hear) the animals that hide during the day and perform most of their activities during the night. You will witness that the nights in Pacaya Samiria are full of life.

We will start the day very early with a rich tropical breakfast, then take our belongings and sail for several hours deeper and deeper into the virgin forest towards Cocha El Dorado.

After several hours of navigation, we will begin the search until we find our ideal place where we will set up our camp and will be our operations center during the day.

Next, we will make a walk through the virgin forest making recognition of medicinal plants, timber trees and their main characteristics; specific associations that occur between plants, trees and animals, parasitic plants, epiphytes and vines. Remember to be very attentive during the walk because we are also going to see monkeys, amphibians, reptiles, birds, arachnids and diversity of insects in their natural habitat.

We will return to the base camp to take a short break and take a bath accompanied by the sounds of the jungle, while we replenish our energies and get ready to enjoy dinner.

Tropical dinner.

After dinner we will do a night canoeing expedition. In complete silence, we will search for alligators, nocturnal birds, rodents and mammals that we can see during the silence of the night aboard our canoe.

We will start the day at dawn to enjoy the beautiful sunrise in the virgin forest. You will see how the sky changes colors as the sun's rays begin to make contact with the jungle. This will be the perfect time to see how the animals that spent all night inactive begin their day with songs and sounds.

Once we enjoyed this show, we will return to the base camp to enjoy an energizing breakfast, to then take our belongings and sail for several hours deeper into the virgin forest towards the Cocha El Dorado.

After several hours of navigation, we will begin the search until we find our ideal place where we will set up our camp and will be our operations center during the day.

After our lunch, we will make an ethnobotanical hike in virgin forest paying close attention to our environment, especially the canopy of the forest, trying to identify sloths and species of monkeys that will be feeding and carrying out their daily activities in their natural habitat. You can also see varieties of birds, insects, arachnids, reptiles and amphibians. If we are lucky we can see different species of boas, including the anaconda, or even the jaguar when it comes to drinking water on the shores of the lagoons. Remember that the closer we get to Pacaya Samiria, the greater the chances of finding wildlife.

Afterwards we will return to the camp to recharge with an exquisite dinner and get ready to discover what surprises await us with the night walk in this sector of Pacaya Samiria.

We will wake up at dawn for a night walk and wait for the sunrise in the virgin forest. You will notice how the sounds that give life to the jungle during the night begin to fade little by little as the sunlight begins to fade the darkness that hides predators and prey during the night.

Once we lived this incredible experience, we will head towards our campsite to enjoy breakfast and then take our belongings and continue sailing for several hours deeper into the virgin forest towards Cocha El Dorado.

After several hours of navigation, we will begin the search until we find our ideal place where we will set up our camp and will be our operations center during the day.

Next, we will put into practice all the knowledge acquired about piranha fishing. The piranhas do not attack and it is possible to swim among them without suffering any damage, you can see for yourself, jumping into the water and swimming with our guide on the river with the piranhas.

After living this adrenaline and great experience, we will return to our camp to rest and enjoy dinner.

Our guides will be protagonists again of an informative talk about the methods of nocturnal fishing carried out for a long time by the local people. After the talk we will take our flashlights and fishing gear, to go to the sectors that our guides know where you can see and of course put into practice all the knowledge acquired during the talk.

We will begin the day with our well-known Amazonian breakfast and then order our belongings and get on the boat to sail for several hours until finally arriving at our destination on the sixth day: "COCHA EL DORADO".

Already before reaching the Cocha you can see and hear the pink dolphins that will accompany you on your way and swimming very close to the boat. This fact, added the beautiful landscape that surrounds the lake and the tranquility that abounds in those parts, will make your arrival at the Cocha El Dorado an unforgettable experience.

Once at the Cocha we will register our arrival at the checkpoint located at the entrance and receive a short explanatory talk about the Cocha El Dorado.

We will start looking for the ideal place to establish our base camp, which will be our operations center during our stay at Cocha El Dorado.

Amazonian lunch.

During the afternoon we will prepare for a trip to the interior of the jungle that surrounds the Cocha and our camp. We will know the place a bit and we will recognize the surrounding flora and fauna. Remember to be attentive, because we are in a place that very few people visit and wildlife is more abundant.

We will return to our camp to get on our boat and sail to the center of the lagoon where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset show in the depths of Pacaya Samiria, it will be a unique experience. You can hear how the howler monkeys howl in the forest around the lake and can be heard from any point in the lake. This is a show seen in very few places.

After resting and replenishing our energies with dinner, we will start a nocturnal journey through the Cocha El Dorado jungle. Enjoy the sounds of the nocturnal jungle and take advantage of spotting the animals, remember that at night their eyes will shine when they come into contact with the light of the lanterns.

We will get up at dawn to embark and sail to the center of the lake and enjoy the beautiful show that dawn offers us in this place of Pacaya Samiria.

Afterwards, we will return to our camp to enjoy an energizing Amazonian breakfast.

Once the breakfast is finished, we will begin to explore the jungle that surrounds the lagoon and thus immerse ourselves in the "kingdom of giant trees" and make an ethnobotanical walk. We will have the pleasure of appreciating the Lupuna (Ceiba petandra), the largest tree in the Amazon rainforest that can exceed 50 meters in height. We will take the opportunity to learn to recognize the "water rope", a vine that can be used as a survival technique. Remember to remain very attentive to your surroundings, as we will be in direct contact with the wildlife of El Dorado.

After lunch we will embark and move to the northern sector of Cocha El Dorado, we will look for the best place to leave our boat and enter the jungle. Once on the mainland we will start a hike through the virgin forest making recognition of the medicinal plants, timber trees and their main characteristics; specific associations that occur between plants, trees and animals, parasitic plants, epiphytes and vines. Remember to be very attentive during the walk because we are also going to see monkeys, amphibians, birds, arachnids, diversity of insects in their natural habitat and of course large mammals and reptiles.

We will return to our camp to watch the sunset and enjoy dinner.

Later, we will begin to prepare for the search of the great alligators that inhabit Cocha El Dorado. Historically, this lagoon has been a great source of stories and legends about the great alligators that inhabit it, where the stories speak of alligators that line the 8 meters in length.

We will wake up at dawn for a night walk and wait for the sunrise inside the forest of El Dorado. You will notice how the sounds that give life to the jungle during the night begin to fade little by little as the sunlight begins to fade the darkness that hides predators and prey during the night. In this area, howler monkeys are especially notorious and the lagoons further enhance their howls, you may notice why some consider them the jungle alarm clock.

After living this incredible experience, we will head towards our camp to enjoy breakfast and prepare for our excursion and discover the jungle of the south zone of Cocha El Dorado.

Once we finished breakfast, we will make an extensive walk to explore in depth the virgin forest that surrounds us right in the heart of Pacaya Samiria. The environment must remain attentive, as wildlife is found everywhere in Cocha El Dorado. During the trek, you will be able to identify a diversity of medicinal, ornamental and timber plants found in that area, as well as the animals that inhabit this part of the reserve.

It is time to get on board the boat to make an expedition and explore Cocha El Dorado. We will sail the length and breadth of this one, and you will be able to enjoy the company of the pink dolphins that especially here are very abundant and curious. You will have the chance to see the diversity of monkeys and birds during the trip. In addition, mammals such as capybaras (Hydrochoerus hydrochae) can be seen in some areas sunning themselves.

We will return to our campsite while we enjoy the sunset.

After dinner, we will prepare for a night walk or go out in search of the great Dorado caimans.

Then, we will pack all our belongings to say goodbye to Cocha El Dorado and start the return trip. Make yourself comfortable and enjoy the trip where you can see birds, reptiles and mammals on the banks of the river, as well as the dolphins that will accompany us during our trip.
